OPP are investigating after a reported threat was made involving a school in Lakefield.
Members of the Peterborough County OPP say officers were called shortly after 10 a.m. on May 25, after school staff received a report of a potential threat and immediately activated safety protocols, including contacting police.
Officers arrived on scene within minutes and conducted a sweep of the building. Police confirmed there was no immediate risk to the safety of students or staff.
The OPP says its Major Crime Unit has been brought in to assist with the ongoing investigation into the source of the threat.
Investigators are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
Police also remind the public that anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at stopcrimehere.ca or by calling 1-800-222-8477.
The investigation remains ongoing.
