A 41-year-old man from Newcastle is facing charges after an alleged fraudulent prescription incident at a pharmacy in Peterborough.
According to the Peterborough Police Service, officers were called to a pharmacy at approximately 7:30 p.m. on May 21 after staff reported a man attempting to pick up a fraudulent prescription.
Police say investigators learned the prescription had allegedly been used multiple times since August 2025.
Officers located the suspect inside the store and took him into custody without incident.
During a search following the arrest, police say officers seized approximately 2.6 grams of methamphetamine along with two knives.
As a result of the investigation, the man has been charged with use, deals or acts on a forged document and possession of a Schedule I substance, specifically methamphetamine.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 11.
