A 28-year-old Peterborough man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Selwyn Township, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.
Members of the Peterborough County OPP, along with paramedics and fire crews, were called to the collision on Fifes Bay Road shortly after 1 a.m. Friday.
Police say a southbound vehicle appeared to lose control before entering the ditch.
Emergency crews arrived to find the lone driver seriously injured. The driver was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Fifes Bay Road remained closed between Lily Lake Road and Lindsay Road following the crash as investigators and emergency personnel continued to examine the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam or video footage from the area and has not yet spoken with police, to contact the Peterborough County OPP.
