After a two-week frenzy which saw 22 people register as candidates for this fall’s Peterborough municipal election, things have slowed down considerably.
The past week saw only Jessica Correa file as a candidate for Otonabee Ward. There are now 23 declared candidates vying for one of 11 Peterborough city council seats up for grabs in this fall’s municipal election.
Meanwhile, there’s still no word from Mayor Jeff Leal on a possible second run at the city’s top elected position. For the complete list of who is running, visit www.peterborough.ca.
The municipal election will be held October 26th. Those looking to stand for election have until August 21st to file as a candidate.
