Free summer concerts are returning to the gazebo at Riverview Park and Zoo beginning later this month.
The bi-weekly Sunday Summer Concert series will run every other Sunday from May 24 through Aug. 30, featuring performances by local musicians and community groups in an outdoor setting.
Concerts are scheduled from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, with visitors encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets and shade umbrellas.
Community Services co-chairs Lesley Parnell and Alex Bierk said the event offers residents and visitors a chance to enjoy live music in a relaxed atmosphere while spending time at the zoo.
This year’s lineup includes the Donny Woods Band on May 24, followed by performances from Fyd L Styx, Wylie Harold and Radio Flyer, the Peterborough Concert Band, Jazz Junction, EC Swing, Lizeh Basciano and Knightshift.
City officials say parking at the zoo is limited and visitors are encouraged to use public transit, carpool, cycle or walk where possible.
Additional information about performers and concert details is available through the zoo’s website at Riverview Park and Zoo.
