A Peterborough woman is celebrating a life-changing win after scoring a $75,000 top prize on an INSTANT Lucky Lines ticket.
Tamara K. won the prize on Game #2530, purchased through the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. The 48-year-old teaching assistant and mother said she was at home when she checked her ticket using the OLG app and initially thought the result was a mistake.
“At first, I thought it was a mistake,” she said during a visit to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “I immediately took a screenshot and sent it to my mom. I couldn’t wait for her to reply, so I called her right away.”
Tamara said she confirmed the win with her mother through tears of joy, and later shared the news with her father and daughter.
“This is euphoric,” she said. “It’s an out-of-body experience. I dreamed I’d come down to the OLG Prize Centre someday to have my picture taken with a big cheque. Now it’s happening.”
She plans to invest her winnings, take a cruise with her daughter and treat her mother to a travel experience of her choice.
The winning ticket was purchased at a Circle K location on Clonsilla Avenue in Peterborough.
INSTANT Lucky Lines is a $3 game with odds of 1 in 3.55 of winning any prize, according to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, which also promotes responsible gambling through its PlaySmart program.
