The Century 21 Peterborough Lakers made a roster move Thursday, acquiring right-shot defender Liam Patten from the Brampton Excelsiors along with a fifth-round pick in the 2027 draft.
In return, Brampton receives Michael Blaymires, Cody Inness, a 2027 third-round draft pick and future considerations.
Patten, listed at 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, appeared in 10 games last season with Brampton, recording four goals, four assists and 11 penalty minutes. He has also spent time in the Major Series Lacrosse system with the Cobourg Kodiaks and Victoria Shamrocks.
Originally selected 26th overall by Calgary in 2017, Patten has professional experience in the National Lacrosse League with stops in Buffalo, Philadelphia and Panther City. Most recently, he played two seasons in Philadelphia under former Lakers general manager Paul Day and current offensive coach Tracey Kelusky.
A native of Barrie, Patten also played collegiate lacrosse at the University of Guelph.
Off the floor, the Lakers are reminding season ticket holders that should they wish to move the location of their seats, they may do so today and tomorrow at the box office. Season tickets continue to be available for new subscribers. Single-game tickets, including the May 21st home opener against the Six Nations Chiefs, go on sale Monday, May 11th.
