The Royal Canadian Legion is marking a major milestone in 2026 as it celebrates 100 years of service to Veterans and communities across the country.
Founded in 1925 at the Unity Conference, the organization has spent a century focused on advocating for Veterans, preserving Remembrance traditions, and supporting those who have served.
That long-standing role continues to resonate with members like Don Corneil, who points to the value of joining and what it offers beyond local branch involvement.
Along with its advocacy work, the Legion also highlights a range of member services, including weekly newsletters, mental health supports, and networking opportunities designed to connect Veterans and their families.
Corneil says branches across Ontario are also drawing attention to updated membership offerings during the centennial year.
As the organization steps into its second century, the focus remains on strengthening support for Veterans while continuing to keep remembrance at the centre of its mission.
