A decade of independent publishing is set to be celebrated as the Book and Zine Fest returns to Peterborough for its 10th year.
The two-day event runs Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Peterborough Public Library, Friends of the Library Room.
This year’s festival brings together comics artists, graphic novelists, letterpress printers and a range of book and paper arts creators. Organizers say the anniversary edition will feature an expanded lineup of vendors and programming, made possible through a co-presentation between Artspace and the Peterborough Public Library.
Admission is by suggested donation to Artspace Peterborough.
Alongside the marketplace of creators, the festival includes special programming. A Nemoralis Book Making Workshop, led by Stuart Hill, runs Friday from 12:30 to 3 p.m. and requires registration. An artist talk with exhibiting artist Edward Fu-Chen Juan takes place Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.
The event continues to spotlight independent publishing and hands-on book arts, while offering visitors a chance to explore both established and emerging creative work in the region.
