Tuesday: Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Pain — A free six-week workshop series designed to help people manage chronic pain conditions such as arthritis, musculoskeletal injuries, and neuropathy. Sessions run at McDonnel Street Community Centre on select Tuesdays from 9:30 am to 12 pm beginning April 27, with additional dates including May 5, May 19 and May 26.
Tuesday: Newcomer, Immigrant and Racialized Communities Listening Session — A community consultation takes place from 6–8 pm at the New Canadians Centre. The free session invites residents to share experiences around culture, belonging, access, and inclusion to help inform Peterborough’s future Cultural Plan, with a focus on equity, representation, and participation.
Wednesday: Improv at the Library — A free drop-in improv comedy workshop hosted by Rapids End Improv in partnership with the Douro-Dummer Public Library from 7–8:30 pm at 435 Fourth Line, Douro. Open to ages 15+, the session is part of a weekly Wednesday series running April 1 to May 6, featuring improv games and storytelling exercises that introduce the basics of improvisation.
Wednesday: Entrepreneurship 101: Money Map – Cash Flow Forecasting — Community Futures Peterborough hosts this workshop from 12–1 pm at VentureNorth, Lower Level Board Room, 270 George St. N., Peterborough. The session focuses on cash flow management for small businesses, covering forecasting techniques, identifying financial challenges, and tools for monitoring and improving cash flow to support stability and growth.
Wednesday: How to Build a Picnic Table – women’s workshop series — Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region hosts a three-week hands-on building workshop from 7-9 pm on April 29, May 6, and May 20 at 3001 Lakefield Road (former Lakefield ReStore). Open to all who identify as women, the series teaches participants how to build a picnic table using reclaimed materials, with all tools and instruction provided. The cost is $285 and proceeds support affordable housing initiatives in the community.
Wednesday: Take Me Home: Celebrating John Denver & Glen Campbell — A tribute concert takes place at 7:30 pm at Market Hall Performing Arts Centre. The show celebrates the music of John Denver and Glen Campbell, featuring classic hits like Wichita Lineman, Rhinestone Cowboy, Take Me Home, Country Roads, and Annie’s Song, performed by a full band of accomplished musicians. Tickets are $65.
