The East City C.A.R.E. will launch a new community building initiative April 27th during a 6 p.m. open house at St. Luke’s Anglican Church on Armour Road.
Created in partnership with Community Care, the goal of Hey Neighbour is to connect neighbours in practical, caring and safe ways, particularly in the wake of an emergency such as a power outage or a weather-related event.
East City PTBO founder Ashley Bonner explains how it works.
Bonner says a survey done earlier pointed to a demand for a program such as this.
Bonner says the initiative would be beneficial for other areas of the city to undertake.
Age Friendly Peterborough, Community Care and the Red Cross will have representation at the gathering.
