A 39-year-old Peterborough woman is facing 18 charges following two separate retail theft investigations, including 16 counts of failing to comply with probation orders.
Peterborough Police say officers with the Community F.I.R.S.T. Unit responded to a report of a theft in progress at a retail business near The Parkway and Lansdowne Street.
When officers arrived, they located a woman matching the suspect’s description as she was leaving the store and took her into custody.
During the investigation, police determined the woman was also wanted in connection with a separate retail theft at a business on Chemong Road.
As a result, the 39-year-old was arrested and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000 and 16 counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Police say the accused was already subject to eight separate probation orders containing several conditions.
Those conditions included requirements to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, along with restrictions prohibiting her from attending the businesses involved in the incidents.
The woman was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday court on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Police have not released the woman’s identity or provided details about the merchandise allegedly stolen.
