The City of Kawartha Lakes is waking up to a new mayor.
Charles McDonald has been elected Mayor of the City of Kawartha Lakes with 51.5% of the vote.
McDonald says in his first 100 days, he wants to ensure new council members have the training they need and establish clear priorities, among other ideas.
A total of 27,170 ballots were cast across the municipality, with officials confirming that 100 per cent of results have been reported.
The unofficial results show Brian Bartley elected in Ward 1, Terry Blackmore in Ward 2, Mike Perry in Ward 3 and Guru Bhat in Ward 4. Mark Doble secured Ward 5, Jasmine Marshall was elected in Ward 6, Eric Smeaton won Ward 7 and Tom Hickey was elected in Ward 8.
The newly elected council will serve a four-year term, with the results remaining unofficial until formally certified by municipal election officials.
