If you moved to The Clash, The Specials or The Cure back in the 1980s, or have since found the music of that decade to your liking, you’ll want to be at Peterborough’s Market Hall this Saturday night (October 24).
UK Calling returns to the downtown venue, headlining a frenetic celebration of the artists whose music anchored alternative radio and filled club dance floors.
Born from the shared vision of lead singer and guitarist Peter Fox and bassist Jarrod Ross, UK Calling is more substance than tribute, reliving the soundtrack of a generation minus costumes and backing tracks, while performing deep cuts as opposed to greatest hits. Fox says UK Calling give audiences the chance to feel the excitement that decade’s live music scene offered.
Ross, who’s the band’s manager and musical director as well as co-founder, reflects on the forming of UK Calling.
Fox feels blessed to be able to bring the music he loves to so many.
Tickets to UK Calling costs $40 at www.markethall.org.
