A familiar voice in Peterborough radio is being recognized as one of the community’s rising leaders.
Jordan Mercier, News Director with My Broadcasting Corporation and part of the team behind FREQ 90.5 and 96.7 WOW FM, has been named one of the recipients of the 2026 4 Under 40 Awards.
Mercier joined Elsa Batten, Kyle Christie and Susan Tung as this year’s four honourees at the Business Excellence Awards on Thursday night at Kawartha Downs.
Presented by RBC and named in memory of Kathy Windrem, the awards recognize individuals under the age of 40 who are making significant contributions to the Peterborough community through professional achievement, business leadership and community involvement.
Mercier has spent more than 15 years working in radio, building a career in broadcasting that includes news reporting, on-air hosting and newsroom leadership.
Since becoming News Director at My Broadcasting Corporation in 2020, Mercier has helped oversee local news coverage, with a focus on keeping listeners informed about the stories and issues affecting their communities.
His work has also included involvement in community events, charitable initiatives and local fundraising efforts through the radio stations.
The 4 Under 40 Awards recognize individuals whose accomplishments extend beyond their professional responsibilities, highlighting the importance of community leadership and involvement.
Organizers say the program celebrates people making their mark in the Peterborough area, whether through business success, volunteer contributions or work in the not-for-profit sector.
The awards also aim to showcase a diverse range of backgrounds and professional experiences.
