The City of Peterborough has received another significant financial boost from Shorelines Casino Peterborough, with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation announcing a second-quarter payment of $738,269.
The payment covers the period from July 1 to September 30, 2026, and represents the city’s share of gaming revenue generated at the local casino.
According to OLG, Peterborough has now received $1,453,820 during the current fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027.
Since Shorelines Casino Peterborough opened in October 2018, the city has collected a total of $19,200,156 in hosting payments.
The funding is distributed through OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement, which provides host municipalities with a portion of gaming revenue based on a formula applied consistently across Ontario’s land-based casinos.
Peterborough-Kawartha MPP Dave Smith says the payments provide municipalities with additional resources to support local priorities.
“OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement provides Peterborough with a share of local casino revenue to invest and enhance our community,” Smith said. “Gaming facilities generate economic activity, support local jobs and investment, and provide revenue that helps fund priorities that are important to the people of Ontario.”
OLG says host municipalities across Ontario have received more than $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue since 1994.
