The City of Peterborough is looking to bring more food and beverage options to local recreation facilities, parks and community events through a new pilot program.
The initiative is designed to give residents and visitors more choices while creating business opportunities for qualified mobile food service operators.
The City is inviting interested vendors to apply for a roster of approved operators who could be called upon to provide food and beverage services during sporting events, tournaments, camps and other municipal programming.
Five locations have been identified as potential sites for the program:
– Miskin Law Community Complex, 271 Lansdowne St. W.
– McDonnel Street Community Centre, 577 McDonnel St.
– Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre, 775 Brealey Dr.
– Bowers Park Canteen, 765 Brealey Dr.
– Quaker Foods City Square, 215 Charlotte St.
Under the pilot program, operators must have fully self-contained mobile food service setups that can be transported to an event and removed afterward.
The City says permanent food service infrastructure and on-site storage will not be available, meaning vendors will need to bring their own equipment and supplies.
The program is intended to provide flexibility for different events while expanding the range of food and beverage services available at City facilities.
Interested businesses are being directed to the City’s Request for Supplier Qualification, identified as RFSQ-150-26, which outlines the requirements and application process.
The City is encouraging qualified mobile food service operators to review the documents and consider applying.
