Leading into rivalry week against the Generals, the Petes have made another roster move.
While their deals since the beginning of the season have revolved around bringing players into the fold, this time they’ve dealt defenceman Thanasi Marentette to the Windsor Spitfires for a 10th round pick in 2030.
He played in 72 games after being selected by the Petes in the 10th round in 2023, and was recently the recipient of the Gary Dalliday Award for Community Service for his Marentette’s Mission initiative for under privileged individuals and families in the community.
General Manager and Vice President of Operations Mike Oke says “I want to thank Thanasi for everything he’s done for the Petes and the city of Peterborough over the last couple of years. He’s been a very hard worker, both on and off the ice, and has done a lot for the community through Marentette’s Mission. We wish him the best as he joins his hometown team in Windsor.”
Petes will face Oshawa both Thursday at the Memorial Centre and Friday in Oshawa. Fans can hear the action with Peterborough Kia Petes Hockey on Freq 90.5 and on the iHeartRadio app
