A 34-year-old Peterborough man is facing multiple charges following an Ontario Provincial Police investigation into a series of break-ins and vehicle thefts across Peterborough and the surrounding county.
Members of the Peterborough/Northumberland OPP Community Street Crime Unit launched the investigation earlier this month after several incidents involving commercial properties and stolen vehicles.
Police say the investigation included break-ins at a food truck in North Kawartha Township, a commercial garage in Buckhorn and a property on Parkhill Road in Selwyn Township.
During the Selwyn incident, a truck and trailer containing two stock race cars were stolen.
Investigators subsequently identified a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
On October 13, officers received information that led them to a large utility-style trailer in a field. Police say one of the stolen race cars was located on the trailer.
The following day, October 14, officers located the suspect at a residence in the City of Peterborough and took him into custody.
Bradley Vienneau has been charged with three counts of breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of theft under $5,000 and one count of mischief to property.
The accused was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
