Canada’s biggest-ever lottery jackpot is up for grabs Friday, with LOTTO MAX reaching a record-breaking $90 million.
The October 16 draw will feature the largest jackpot ever offered in Canada, surpassing the previous record of $85 million. And the main jackpot isn’t the only major prize available.
According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, Friday’s draw is also expected to include 18 MAXMILLIONS prizes worth $1 million each and 90 MAXPLUS prizes worth $100,000 apiece.
That brings the combined value of top prizes available in the draw to approximately $117 million.
The historic jackpot comes after Tuesday night’s $85 million grand prize went unclaimed.
However, several Ontario lottery players still walked away with significant winnings.
Two MAXMILLIONS tickets worth $1 million each were sold in Whitby and Hamilton.
Another $1 million MAXMILLIONS prize was split between tickets sold in Toronto and Mississauga, with each ticket worth $500,000.
Twelve MAXPLUS tickets worth $100,000 each were also sold across Ontario, including in Kingston, Kitchener, Whitby, Oakville, Toronto and Middlesex County.
Three additional MAXPLUS tickets each won $50,000, including tickets sold in York Region, Lanark County and through OLG.ca. Two LOTTO MAX second-prize tickets worth $81,541.10 each were sold in York Region and Willowdale. Meanwhile, three ENCORE tickets worth $100,000 each were sold in Stouffville, Ajax and through OLG.ca.
With Friday’s jackpot reaching an unprecedented $90 million, a single winning ticket could set a new Canadian lottery record.
