The Trent Excalibur men’s soccer team is heading back to the playoffs, and this time, they’re making program history.
For the first time, the Excalibur have qualified for the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) postseason in consecutive seasons, securing another playoff berth following a strong 2026 campaign.
Trent reached another milestone on Saturday, October 10, defeating the Royal Military College (RMC) 2-1 to record its sixth victory of the season.
The win tied the program record for most victories in a single season, matching the mark set during the 2025 campaign.
The Excalibur currently sit fifth in the OUA East Division standings, with one regular-season game remaining.
The achievement builds on last year’s success, when Trent qualified for the postseason before falling 3-1 to the nationally ranked No. 10 Carleton Ravens in the opening round.
Now, with consecutive playoff appearances secured, the Excalibur have another opportunity to build on that experience.
Before the postseason begins, Trent will travel to face the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday, October 17, with kickoff scheduled for 2:15 p.m. A victory would establish a new single-season program record with seven wins.
The 2026 OUA men’s soccer playoffs are scheduled to begin Wednesday, October 21.
