The term ‘many hands make light work’ is never more true than when a not for profit is doing a fundraiser.
The folks at Kawartha Food Share are hoping that that message permeates to residents as their annual Porch Pirates for Good food drive is coming up quick.
Acting General Manager of Kawartha Food Share Mackenzie McIlwain says that while the goal is to collect food items from people’s porches on October 24th, organizers are still looking for volunteers or pirates to not only collect the bounty that morning, but are also looking for some help to distribute flyers leading up to collection day.
She says this is a great opportunity for those, including high school students, who need volunteer hours to bank them, and would be great for groups.
McIllwain adds that this iniative is 7 years strong, and has been a huge asset for not only Kawartha Food Share, but also those who rely on those donations
