A must-attend annual event for many returns later this month in the form of the two-day fall book sale at the Peterborough Public Library.
Organized and hosted by Friends of the Library, the sale will be held October 23rd, noon to 7 p.m., and October 24th, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Aylmer Street branch.
Since 1986, Friends of the Library has raised, via two book sales annually, some $800,000 for numerous library programs that otherwise wouldn’t be funded.
Group member Debra Primeau says a number of factors have contributed to four decades of organizing and hosting the sale.
Primeau says the list of library needs and programs the sale has funded over the years is a long and impressive.
Primeau gives an overview of what’s available for book shoppers at the sale.
Primeau says used book donations are welcome year-round, and can be made via a book chute on the south side of the Aylmer Street branch that’s open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
