Seniors in Selwyn Township can once again hit the ice for free during the 2026-27 skating season.
The Township has announced the return of free Seniors Skating at both the Ennismore Community Centre and Lakefield-Smith Community Centre, thanks to support from local sponsors.
Residents aged 55 and older can skate at the Ennismore Community Centre on Mondays from 1 to 3 p.m., excluding holidays.
At the Lakefield-Smith Community Centre, free seniors skating will be offered Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m., also excluding holidays.
Swish Maintenance and Blue Diamond Window Cleaning are partnering to sponsor the Ennismore program, while Hendren Funeral Homes – a Division of Opus Tribute Group – is supporting the Lakefield sessions.
The Township says the program provides older adults with an opportunity to remain active while spending time with friends and connecting with others in the community.
Selwyn officials thanked the three sponsors for their continued support of local recreation and community well-being.
