Jason grew up in East City, attending Armour Heights and Thomas A Stewart Secondary schools. After living in Guelph, Toronto, Winnipeg and Victoria, he returned to Peterborough in 2009 and hasn’t looked back. He is now raising two children in the same neighbourhood where he grew up, while managing a governance consulting firm with his partner Nic Gagliardi.
Since returning to Peterborough, Jason has contributed to the community through organizations including the New Canadians Centre, Canopy Support Services, the Rotary Club of Peterborough, and Volunteer Peterborough, as well as working as a part-time professor at Fleming College. In 2014 he was recognized as one of the inaugural recipients of the Greater Peterborough Chamber of Commerce 4 Under 40 Award.
Jason has the background and experience to hit the ground running as a Councillor for Ashburnham Ward. Jason earned a law degree from the University of Manitoba and a graduate degree in public policy from the University of Victoria. Having worked in the BC public service and having held leadership roles in local community organizations, he understands how government works, and has experience building coalitions, navigating complex institutions, and leading initiatives that made a real difference.
