AJ Shearer is a lifelong Peterborough-area resident with deep roots in the community. His family has lived in the region for seven generations, and he grew up in Peterborough, attending R.F. Downey, Prince of Wales and Adam Scott before earning a Bachelor of Engineering with Distinction from Carleton University.
AJ began his career in aerospace, working in systems integration and software testing before moving into consulting and business intelligence. His work included helping organizations, including healthcare systems, use data and technology to improve decision-making and operational performance. He later co-owned a company focused on business intelligence and systems integration.
About eight years ago, AJ returned to Peterborough with his wife, Seanna, to raise their family. He now works in real estate as a broker and partner in his family’s business.
Outside of work, AJ has remained active in the community. He has coached and sponsored junior rugby with the Peterborough Pagans, served on the board of the Peterborough Squash Club, supported local youth sports, and volunteered with the Buckhorn Snowmobile Club. Peterborough has remained the place AJ considers home, and his professional and community experience has kept him closely connected to the people, organizations and challenges shaping the city today.
