Volunteers, staff and the public attended the campaign kick-off and open house at the United Way Haliburton, Kawartha Lakes in their new location in Lindsay.
The new campaign co-chairs this year, are a family. Jennifer and Chris Mabee, along with their four children will do the honours.
Son, Jaxson, says the family was inspired to help out after their business, IG Wealth Management Mabee and Associates, was involved in the Edwin Binney community garden.
Fresh food from the garden has been distributed to 20 food banks and 15 local agencies locally.
