Peterborough’s Women in Trades Committee is hosting a community event that aims to celebrate and build support of women in the skilled trades.
Set for this Wednesday (September 16), 5 p.m., at the 100 Acre Brewing Company, Built to Connect will bring together tradespeople, industry partners, students and members of the broader community for a fun and casual night that will feature trades-related trivia at its centre.
Women in Trades Committee co-chair Elsa Batten explains the event is suited not only for those working in the trades, but also those considering the trades as a career or simply with a love of trivia. That said, she notes there is an end goal.
Against the backdrop of an aging workforce and prospect of the loss of many skilled workers, Batten says the trades much to offer women in terms of opportunity.
Batten assures the event’s trivia offering won’t be difficult to navigate with the focus on having fun and being as inclusive as possible.
Tickets, which include food, cost $40, $30 for students, and are available online at https://www.showpass.com/builttoconnecttrivianight/?utm_source=chatgpt.com.
