Two Peterborough women are facing charges following an incident involving police and City by-law enforcement on Wolf Street.
Peterborough Police say members of the Community F.I.R.S.T. team were assisting City of Peterborough by-law officers with a keep-the-peace standby at approximately 8 a.m. Tuesday when officers recognized a woman wanted on outstanding warrants.
Police arrested the 33-year-old woman on two counts each of failing to comply with probation, failing to comply with an undertaking and theft under $5,000.
During the arrest, officers say they found a glass pipe and suspected drugs. The woman was additionally charged with possession of a Schedule I substance.
She was held for a court appearance on September 2.
Police say while officers were making the arrest, a second woman became upset and allegedly assaulted a City of Peterborough by-law officer.
A 55-year-old Peterborough woman was arrested and charged with assault.
Police say she was also bound by a probation order requiring her to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and was additionally charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on November 24.
