Three people have been charged and police are searching for a fourth individual following the seizure of a loaded firearm in Campbellford.
Ontario Provincial Police say members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Grand Road on August 27.
The operation was assisted by the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit.
Police say three people fled the property on foot as officers executed the warrant. All three were arrested nearby.
A loaded firearm was seized during a search of the residence.
David Munford, 44, of Campbellford, has been charged with possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, careless storage of a firearm, tampering with a firearm serial number and possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order. He also faces two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Shane Mclean, 45, of Campbellford, faces charges including possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, tampering with a firearm serial number, possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, careless storage of a firearm and failing to comply with a probation order.
Kelly Scott, 39, of Campbellford, has been charged with possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, tampering with a firearm serial number, careless storage of a firearm and failing to comply with a probation order.
All three accused were held for appearances before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
OPP say the investigation remains ongoing and officers are searching for a fourth individual in connection with the incident.
