With students preparing to return to school, Lakelands Public Health is reminding parents to take simple steps to help prevent the spread of germs and illness.
Public Health nurse Roxanne Teeuwsen says that students can mitigate the spread of germs through various protective measures including hand washing, covering your coughs and sneezes and wearing a mask. She emphasizes that staying home when you are sick is another very important measure to help prevent the spread.
As the fall weather arrives and kids head back to school, Roxanne says the health unit sees an influx of certain illnesses.
“Prevention doesn’t have to be complicated,” Roxanne tells PTBO Today.
