A 48-year-old Peterborough man is facing additional charges after police arrested him on outstanding warrants Wednesday.
Peterborough Police say an officer on general patrol spotted the man walking in the area of Stewart and Dalhousie streets on August 26 and identified him as being wanted on multiple warrants.
Officers took the man into custody on warrants for unauthorized possession of a weapon and failing to comply with an appearance notice.
Police say a search following the arrest and subsequent investigation resulted in an additional charge of possession of a Schedule I substance.
The accused was also allegedly bound by a release order requiring him not to possess or consume unlawful drugs. He was subsequently charged with failing to comply with a release order.
The man was held in custody and appeared in court on August 26.
The charges have not been proven in court.
