Motorists in Peterborough’s west end will have to contend with a lane closure on Kawartha Heights Boulevard for a little longer than originally planned.
The City says the closure of the northbound lane between Lansdowne Street West and Applewood Crescent has been extended until Monday, September 14.
Turn restrictions remain in place at Lansdowne Street West, Spillsbury Drive and Kawartha Heights Boulevard. Northbound drivers are being asked to follow posted detour routes and allow additional travel time through the area.
The sidewalk on the east side of Kawartha Heights Boulevard will also remain closed within the construction zone. Pedestrians are being directed to the sidewalk on the west side.
Peterborough Transit Route 6 Sherbrooke East and West will continue to avoid Kawartha Heights Boulevard and Spillsbury Drive between Applewood Crescent and Forster Avenue.
The eastbound detour uses Spillsbury Drive, Forster Avenue, Brealey Drive and Cherryhill Road before returning to Kawartha Heights Boulevard.
The westbound detour follows Kawartha Heights Boulevard to Cherryhill Road, Brealey Drive, Forster Avenue and Spillsbury Drive.
