Drivers and transit riders in Peterborough’s west end can expect another traffic disruption as work continues on the Lansdowne Street West Reconstruction project.
The northbound lane of Kawartha Heights Boulevard between Lansdowne Street West and Applewood Crescent will be closed from Monday, August 24 through Monday, September 7.
Turn restrictions will also be in place at Lansdowne Street West, Spillsbury Drive and Kawartha Heights Boulevard.
Northbound motorists are being asked to follow posted detour routes and allow additional travel time through the area.
Pedestrians will also be affected. The sidewalk on the east side of Kawartha Heights Boulevard will be closed within the construction zone, with pedestrians directed to use the sidewalk on the west side.
Peterborough Transit’s Route 6 Sherbrooke East and West will be detoured during the closure and will not travel along Kawartha Heights Boulevard and Spillsbury Drive between Applewood Crescent and Forster Avenue.
Route 6 East will travel along Spillsbury Drive, Forster Avenue, Brealey Drive and Cherryhill Road before returning to Kawartha Heights Boulevard.
Route 6 West will follow Kawartha Heights Boulevard to Cherryhill Road, Brealey Drive, Forster Avenue and Spillsbury Drive.
