It was another amazing haul for the Mark’s All Hands-on Deck Food Drive in support of the Kawartha Food Share.
On Thursday, staff from 96.7 WOW FM and FREQ 90.5 were at locations all over the city and county including: Jo Anne’s Place Health Foods, Foodland locations on Sherbrooke, in East City and in Ennismore, as well as Greg’s No Frills and Taylor’s No Frills
Interim General Manager Mackenzie McIlwain was thrilled with how everything came together.
In total, 4300 pounds of food was collected. McIlwain says all of that will go a really long way for those returning to the classroom.
The organization supports student nutrition programs at 51 area schools. Through breakfast and meal programs, those efforts are helping feed more than 17,000 school-aged children every single day.
While no official dollar figure has been announced, organizers say it is in the thousands. PTBOTODAY.ca will report the tally as soon as it becomes available.
