What has been a full summer of free music and theatre performances at the Traill College’s Jalynn Bennett Amphitheatre wraps up August 20th in a big way.
Summer Soiree, presented by New Stages Peterborough, will see a number of artists present new short works. Starting at 7 p.m., the free admission event will see Beau Dixon, Kate Shur, Kerry Griffin, Kate Story and Bill Coleman among those taking the stage.
New Stages artistic director Mark Wallace, who will also present, says Summer Soiree marks the revival of a performance tradition.
Wallace says the mix of presenting artists and disciplines is off the charts.
Wallace says New Stages’ involvement with four shows this summer at the amphitheatre has been a worthwhile endeavour.
New Stages is now preparing for its 2026-27 season of performances, with Wallace noting it’s already 75 percent soldout.
