Smash Courts Pickleball is hosting a two-day fundraising event August 14 and 15 in support of Tim Hortons Camp Day, giving community members and players of all experience levels the opportunity to hit the courts while helping send deserving youth to camp.
The fundraising event begins Friday, Aug. 14, from noon to 8 p.m., with a Pickleball Fun Day priced at $20 per person.
Smash Courts co-founder Jody Allen says that the Friday event is designed to welcome everyone to the sport, including people who have never played pickleball before.
The day will feature introductory sessions for new players, open courts for casual games, giveaways and challenges, along with Tim Hortons treats and family-friendly activities throughout the day.
The weekend continues into Saturday with a Team Tournament costing $60 per person.
The tournament is open to players ranging from beginner to advanced levels. Participants can select their preferred level and will be placed on a team, creating an opportunity for experienced players and newcomers alike to meet, compete and enjoy a day of pickleball.
For those who are unable to attend but still want to contribute, Smash Courts is also offering a “Sponsor a Youth” option, where community members can sponsor a child’s participation.
