Trent University and OPSEU/SEFPO Local 365 have finalized a new four-year collective agreement covering more than 500 support staff.
The agreement was officially ratified following approval by Trent University’s Board of Governors on July 28 and by members of OPSEU Local 365 on July 14.
University President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Cathy Bruce said the agreement provides stability while supporting the institution’s long-term future.
Bruce thanked both bargaining teams for their work, saying the agreement reflects a shared commitment to Trent University and the people who work there.
OPSEU Local 365 President William Dowkes said the deal delivers meaningful improvements for members, including enhanced benefits, stronger leave provisions and gains for contract staff.
The agreement also includes improvements to workplace provisions, enhanced employee benefits and supports, and across-the-board wage increases in each of the four years.
OPSEU/SEFPO Local 365 represents approximately 530 support staff at Trent University, including caretakers, administrative staff, maintenance workers, systems analysts, demonstrators and teaching assistants.
