A 29-year-old Trent Lakes man is facing multiple charges following an investigation by the Peterborough Police Service Sex Crimes Unit involving a teenage girl.
Police say officers executed a search warrant at a home in Trent Lakes on Thursday, July 30, 2026, as part of the investigation.
Following the search, Dustin James Hofstede of Trent Lakes was arrested and charged with several offences, including sexual interference, sexual assault, indecent exposure to a person under 16, luring a person under 16, and transmitting sexually explicit material to a person under 16.
Police also charged Hofstede with sex offender registry-related offences, three counts of failing to comply with a prohibition order, and possession of a replica firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in court Thursday.
Investigators say they believe there may be additional victims and that some incidents may not yet have been reported.
