Peterborough’s postponed Canada Day fireworks will light up the sky on Saturday, Aug. 1.
The City says the fireworks display, originally planned for Canada Day, will begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. in Del Crary Park following the Peterborough Musicfest concert.
Motorists should expect temporary road closures throughout the day to accommodate the event.
From noon until 10:30 p.m., Perry Street, Lake Street, Crescent Street and Lock Street around Del Crary Park will be closed to through traffic.
The closures include Perry and Lake streets between George and Crescent streets, Crescent Street between Romaine and Perry streets, and Lock Street between Romaine and Crescent streets.
Local traffic will still be permitted to access properties within the closure area.
Residents attending the fireworks are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel.
