With a review of Peterborough’s delivery of services now underway, a survey seeking public input is open until July 28th.
The Effectiveness and Efficiency Review, being done by Ernst and Young, is intended to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance service delivery, while reviewing the city’s organizational structure and current staffing levels.
Peterborough Mayor Jeff Leal says this marks the first time an outside firm has taken a comprehensive look at “everything we do.”

Mayor Leal says while internal reviews of the city’s delivery of services have been done, having an outside party do so provides a new set of eyes. He adds residents’ input is key to the process.
The survey can be accessed online at connectptbo.ca/effectiveness-and-efficiency-review with hard copies at City Hall.
The final review report is expected to go to city council in September, with its recommendations considered as part of the process leading up to 2027 city budget approval.
