When Douro-Dummer residents head to the polls this October, a familiar name will appear on their ballot.
Former Peterborough County warden and Douro-Dummer mayor J. Murray Jones is making another run, seeking election as mayor of the township.
Back in 2022, for the first time in 24 years, Jones didn’t seek election, saying he was “worn out.”
Jones admits he has missed politics “terribly.”
Jones is hopeful his experience resonates with voters.
Jones joins Peter Leahy as a candidate for Douro-Dummer mayor. Meanwhile, current mayor Heather Watson has yet to make plans know. The deadline for filing nominations papers is August 21st.
