Selwyn Township will have a new mayor come the October municipal election.
Current mayor Sherry Senis has announced via Facebook that she’s not seeking re-election to that position.
Mayor Senis was first elected to Selwyn council in 2006 as the councillor for Smith Ward.
After two terms in that role, she was acclaimed deputy-mayor in 2014 and 2018 before she was again acclaimed in 2022, this time as mayor.
To date, current Selwyn deputy mayor Ron Black is only candidate for Selwyn mayor. The nomination filing period open will close on August 21st. The municipal election will be held October 26th.
