152 golfers raised $15,000 through the Mariposa Electric Charity Classic last month in support of the Ross Memorial Hospital.
On June 19 participants came out for a day of friends and fun at the Lindsay Golf & Country Club.
For the past four years, the owners of Mariposa Electric have hosted their Charity Classic golf tournament, sharing the view that they live local, work local and give back local.
This year, the charitable giving generated through the golf tournament benefits patient care needs at Ross Memorial Hospital through the WE ARE THE ROSS capital campaign.
Mariposa Electric says they chose the Ross as their charity partner this year because they wanted to support treatments and services that the community may require. They also wanted to recognize the years of care that Mariposa Electric founding owner, Donnie Brown, received before his passing on July 1.
“Local businesses such as Mariposa Electric make our community stronger in so many ways. The owners’ commitment to local causes is just one example,” said Erin Coons, RMH Foundation CEO. “We are grateful to all of the golfers who took part in the Charity Classic and appreciate the strong connections many of them feel toward the Ross. We are very honoured to receive this generous donation that will touch even more lives in Kawartha Lakes.”
