A 28-year-old Peterborough man is facing multiple charges after an alleged assault and robbery.
Peterborough police say officers were called to the area of Brock and Chambers streets at about 4:15 p.m. on July 10 for reports of an assault in progress. Investigators allege the victim was struck with a piece of wood before property was stolen.
The suspect had left the scene before officers arrived but was later located on Murray Street after his description was broadcast to patrol officers.
Following the investigation, the man was charged with assault with a weapon, robbery with violence and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
The accused was held in custody and appeared in Weekend and Statutory Holiday (WASH) court on July 11.
