A 26-year-old Etobicoke woman is facing charges following a serious two-vehicle collision on Highway 35 in the City of Kawartha Lakes.
The crash happened at about 6:58 a.m. Thursday near Bethany Hills Road in Manvers Township and involved a passenger vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle. One driver was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Highway 35 was closed for several hours while emergency crews responded and environmental crews completed cleanup. The roadway has since reopened.
Following an investigation, City of Kawartha Lakes OPP charged Jada-Lee Riley, 26, with careless driving causing bodily harm, dangerous operation causing bodily harm, and attempting to pass when the roadway was not clear of approaching traffic.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam or video footage and has not yet spoken with investigators to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
