The annual Hike for Hospice returns to Millennium Park on September 27, raising funds to support end-of-life care and bereavement services in the community.
Fundraising and Communications Coordinator Sarah van den Berg says that Hike for Hospice helps to keep care and support services available to the community at no cost.
Last year, Hike for Hospice raised $138,000 through 360 participants and numerous local business sponsors.
On top of fundraising, she says that these initiatives help to destigmatize death and grief.
Van den Berg says that those who are unable to participate on the 27th can still support Hospice in a number of ways.
The hike will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Millenium Park.
