A 52-year-old Lindsay woman is facing impaired driving charges following a minor two-vehicle collision in the city Thursday afternoon.
The Kawartha Lakes Police Service says officers on general patrol came upon the crash near Sussex Street and Kent Street at approximately 4:50 p.m. on July 2.
During their investigation, officers determined that one of the drivers was allegedly impaired and placed the woman under arrest.
She has been charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, driving while under suspension, and failing to surrender an insurance card.
Police say the woman also received an automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension, while her vehicle was impounded for seven days.
She is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a future date.
The charges have not been tested in court.
