A 22-year-old man from Markdale has died following a drowning incident at Beavermead Park beach.
Emergency crews, including police, fire and paramedic services, were called to the popular waterfront area at approximately 7:43 p.m. on July 3.
Authorities say the man entered the water but did not resurface.
First responders located and pulled him from the Otonabee River and immediately began life-saving efforts at the scene. He was transported to Peterborough Regional Health Centre, where he was later pronounced dead.
The beach was temporarily closed while emergency crews responded and investigated the incident, but has since reopened to the public.
No further details have been released. The circumstances surrounding the drowning remain under investigation.
