Peterborough Police say one driver received a warning and another was ticketed for driving while suspended during a Canada Day RIDE initiative aimed at keeping local roads safe.
Officers with the Peterborough Police Service conducted the Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere detail on July 1, administering 10 roadside screening tests throughout the day.
Police reported issuing one warning, one ticket to a suspended driver and three additional provincial offence notices.
The service is reminding motorists that road safety is a shared responsibility and encouraging residents to plan ahead before consuming alcohol or cannabis.
Drivers are urged to arrange a safe ride home, stay overnight when necessary, or use a taxi or ride-sharing service to help prevent impaired driving incidents.
